Share Results

Here are some ways you can share this information with team members.

  • Share the outputs of this procedure with a shared folder, an intranet web server or both. For web sharing with Apache, create a symbolic link to the logDirectory in your htdocs folder (/Library/WebServer/Documents on Mac OS X). For example: ln –s /Volumes/BackupLogs . . Windows users can share the log directory using the “Web Sharing” tab of its property dialog.

  • Transform the XML output file to an RSS feed using the scripts provided. Team members can subscribe to this feed with their web browsers, RSS readers or mobile devices. They can even follow the RSS feed using a service like Yammer for even greater flexibility in how they receive updates (email, IM, SMS).
